American Citizen Services
The American Citizen Services Section primarily provides services to U.S. citizens, but it also provides services to citizens of other countries. Examples of services provided are passport processing, voting assistance, tax information, notary public services, applications for social security numbers, and information on U.S. customs regulations.
Non-Immigrant Visa Unit
The Non-Immigrant Visa Section provides services to those seeking to enter the United States for a temporary period. The purpose of this stay could be tourism, studies, work, practical training, or to work as an au pair etc.
Immigrant Visa Unit
The Immigrant Visa Unit provides services for those wishing to take up indefinite or permanent residence (“green card status”) in the United States.
Hours of Operation
The Consular Section is open to the public from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday, and for U.S. citizens from 9:00 to 11:00 Monday through Friday. Our telephone hours are Monday through Thursday, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. We are not open on Swedish or American holidays.
