The American Citizen Services (ACS) unit of the Consular Section provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in Sweden.

 

 

Services provided include:

• U.S. passports issuance;
• Reporting the birth of a Child in Sweden to a U.S. Citizen;
• Social security numbers;
• Tax information;
• Voting assistance;
• Notarization of documents;
• Children's issues; and,
• Emergency services for American citizens etc.

Hours of Operation

The American Citizen Services Unit is located in the Consular Section of the American Embassy. We are open to the public between 9 and 11AM, Monday through Friday, except for Swedish and American holidays. No appointments are required when renewing a passport, but for certain services an appointment is necessary, e.g. to report the birth of a child in Sweden to a U.S. citizen. Please read the instructions for the service in question to determine if you need to make and appointment before visiting us.
