If you need additional information, you can contact us via e-mail, fax, or by writing. We strive to answer any written correspondence within four business days. E-mail is the Immigrant Visa Unit's preferred method of communication. Representatives at the Immigrant Visa Unit are able to provide basic information regarding the status on file with the Embassy. They are unable to provide advice or make determinations about legal aspects of cases.

The Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm no longer accepts telephone inquiries.
The IV Unit is open to the public by appointment only, Monday through Thursday between 9-11 AM. We are closed on U.S. and Swedish holidays. If you have an appointment, you can find us at:

Please note that there are special security regulations in place for visiting the Embassy.
Our office may not share information about an immigration application or petition with someone other than the applicant or petitioner without receiving written authorization to do so. In the case of attorneys and accredited representatives, U.S. Embassy must receive a duly signed Form G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearances Attorney or Representative. Form G-28 can be found on the USCIS website.
If your inquiry concerns an Immigrant Visa petition currently being processed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or an Immigrant Visa application being processed by the National Visa Center in New Hampshire, you must contact the appropriate office for further information. We regret that the Immigrant Visa Unit will not be able to assist you with such inquiry.
