    Investments in Clean Energy Rose in the U.S. and in Europe in 2011

    Bloomberg New Energy Finance recently released a study showing that global investments in clean energy reached $260 billion in 2011, 5 percent higher than in 2010 and almost five times the $53.6-billion in 2004. Solar energy investments rose 36 percent to $136.6 billion.

    University of Gothenburg Launches Tool that Calculates Solar Generation Potential

    It is becoming more and more common to install solar panels on roofs in order to obtain green electricity, but not all roofs are equally suitable. Scientists from the University of Gothenburg have launched a tool that uses the actual conditions to determine the maximum possible magnitude of solar incidence - in a whole town, a neighbourhood, or a particular roof.
