On April 2, 2008, Ambassador Michael M. Wood presented an updated list of 48 Swedish renewable-energy companies to American investors. More than 40 people participated, including representatives from 22 venture capital firms, four executives from the State of Massachusetts, four representatives from the New England Clean Energy Council, CEOs from five American clean tech companies, and others. The meeting was hosted by Flagship Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on creating, financing and building innovative companies.

The list presented by the Ambassador included eight companies added in 2008. Ambassador Wood presented the original list of Swedish companies to representatives of 18 American venture capital investment funds at a meeting last April at Stanford University. About three-quarters of the Swedish companies on the list have already benefited from the exposure, according to an Embassy survey conducted in December and January.

The Embassy will continue to update and add to the list as new Swedish companies emerge.
