Ambassador Barzun Hosts Iftar Dinner

On the 16th day of Ramadan, Ambassador Barzun hosted a historic Iftar at the Residence. The approximately 50 guests from various sectors of Swedish society included the Minister for Employment, the leading Imam from the Stockholm Grand Mosque, Ambassadors, media and most importantly, a large representation from Sweden's young, modern Muslim society.

Writing about the Iftar in her blog for leading newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, Sweden's leading Middle East correspondent, Bitte Hammargren, reflected how the United States demonstrated to the rest of Europe how diversity and religious tolerance is a natural part of society.
